The Art of Seeing New York
Sometimes, seeing a city differently begins with simply slowing down.
A meaningful milestone for NYC Limited Edition.
Sometimes, seeing a city differently begins with simply slowing down.
When Google contacted me to create and lead The Art of Seeing New York for their GBOedu NYC Onsite event, I saw an opportunity to share something that has always been at the heart of my photography: the art of paying attention.
On October 6, I had the privilege of leading 25 participants through SoHo, Nolita, and Chinatown—not simply to photograph New York, but to experience it through a different perspective.
The experience centered on three ideas: Observation. Interpretation. Personal Vision.
To notice the details we usually pass by.
To interpret what we see through our own perspective.
And ultimately, to create photographs that feel personal.
Because photography, for me, has never been only about capturing an image.
It is about curiosity. Light. Emotion. Memory. And the feeling that a fleeting moment can somehow become yours.
New York gives us endless opportunities to look.
The challenge is learning how to see truly.
I’m grateful to Google for trusting me to create this experience, and to everyone who joined me on the streets of New York.
See differently.
